Pelligrino-Langan TD pass lifts New Hyde Park
Joe Langan caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Nick Pelligrino with 6:30 left in the fourth quarter to put New Hyde Park up by a touchdown before Rob Mirabile and Brian Hoerter combined to stop a Glen Cove two-point conversion with 1:40 left to seal a 21-20 win over Glen Cove in Nassau III yesterday. New Hyde Park is 4-2. Glen Cove’s Steven King scored on a 6-yard touchdown run, which led to the two-point try. On the drive following the failed conversion, Christian Carrick punted the ball 72 yards to Glen Cove’s 3-yard line with 12 seconds left.
South Side 22, Lynbrook 16: D’Andre Satchell made a sack on fourth down in overtime for South Side (3-3). Satchell had five tackles. Johnny Pickett had 35 carries for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Joe Licalzi had three catches for 82 yards and one touchdown. Pickett and Licalzi each made an interception. Shane Batyr was 7-for-10 for 160 yards and one touchdown.
Roosevelt 28, Plainedge 17: Corey Bull rushed for 121 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown to lead Roosevelt (5-1). His 65-yard TD run with 4:25 left in the fourth quarter gave Roosevelt a 21-17 lead. Kevon Hall returned an interception 86 yards with 1:19 left to put the Rough Riders ahead 28-17.
Lawrence 21, Bethpage 14: Christian Fredericks carried 17 times for 176 yards and two TDs, including the tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, to lead Lawrence (5-1).
Wantagh 42, Hewlett 21: Gavin Casey rushed seven times for 125 yards and three touchdowns and added two receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown to lead Wantagh (6-0). Casey’s third touchdown of the day capped a 21-point third quarter for Wantagh. Jake Castellano completed 5 of 6 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown and Jimmy Joyce added a 60-yard touchdown pass, a reception for 13 yards and an interception on defense.
Division 28, Roslyn 8: George Hafner had three catches for 43 yards and one touchdown to lead Division (3-2). Vinny Inciarrano was 14-for-19 for 163 yards and a touchdown. Luke Hall had 10 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown. Chris LaRocca had 19 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown.
