Nassau III roundup: Ken Daley carries North Shore

Ken Daley rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries, including a 5-yard score with 10:59 remaining to put North Shore ahead by one point en route to a 36-28 win over South Side in Nassau III football Saturday.

Daley's score gave North Shore (3-3) a 29-28 lead after it trailed 21-0 in the second quarter. Daley scored on a 1-yard run with 5:31 left to cap the scoring. Rich Hajok ran for 150 yards and a TD on 10 carries and he caught a 16-yard TD pass from Mike Floccari to pull North Shore within 28-22 with 3:48 left in the third.

South Side is 3-3. Manhasset 28, Division 21: Kevin Overlander, who passed for 185 yards and three touchdowns, connected with Jon Stefan on a 35-yard TD on fourth-and-24 with 30 seconds remaining for the go-ahead score to lift Manhasset (4-2). Junior James Farrell had 203 rushing yards on 21 carries in his first career start at running back. Division is 1-5.

Bethpage 26, Lynbrook 21: Yoannis Efstathiou scored on a 3-yard run midway through the fourth quarter to cap the scoring for Bethpage (2-4). He rushed for 125 and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Lynbrook is 2-4.

Plainedge 21, Floral Park 0: Freshman Davien Kuinlan was 11-for-14 passing for 114 yards and a touchdown and he added 105 rushing yards and a TD on 12 carries in his first varsity game for Plainedge (6-0). Floral Park is 3-3.

Valley Stream South 48, Carle Place 12: Frank Accardi rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on five carries and Tyler Gill rushed for 105 yards and two TDs on three carries for Valley Stream South (3-3). Joe Reichert had 12 tackles in the win. Carle Place is 0-6.Lawrence 35, Hewlett 7: Joe Capobianco was 11-for-14 passing for 211 yards and three TDs and he also rushed for a score to lead Lawrence (6-0). Eddie Robinson had three receptions for 73 yards and two TDs and he had nine tackles on defense. Hewlett is 3-3.
