Albert’s TD run leads Carle/Wheatley Wild Frogs

Tziah Albert’s 7-yard touchdown run with 1:50 left in the third quarter gave Carle Place/Wheatley a seven-point lead, and Corey Iglesias’ tackle on a two-point conversion attempt with four minutes left in the game preserved a 13-12 win over Cold Spring Harbor on Friday in a Nassau IV game.

Luke Caliendo’s 3-yard touchdown run with six minutes left in the first gave the Wild Frogs (4-1) a 6-0 lead. Chris Kelly rushed for 135 yards on 19 carries.

Seaford 35, Locust Valley 7: Danny Roell had 22 carries for 221 yards and three touchdowns to lead Seaford (5-0). A.J. Cain’s 40-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Murphy put Seaford ahead 14-0 in the first quarter after a 21-yard rushing touchdown by Roell.

Clarke 35, East Rockaway 13: Corey Rosenbloom’s 9-yard touchdown run with seven minutes left in the second quarter tied the score and Fran Martinez’s extra point put Clarke (3-1) ahead for good as it scored 35 unanswered points.

Valley Stream South 41, Friends Academy 12: Ozzy Traill threw a 55-yard scoring pass to Nick Hernandez on the third play of the game, and South (2-3) led the rest of the way. Joe Sammerone ran four times for 145 yards and a TD, and Jason Bowden ran 12 times for 117 yards and a TD.

North Shore 40, Mineola 7: Ryan Aughavin was 5 of 8 passing for 155 yards and three TDs, and added 112 yards rushing with another score for North Shore (3-2). Aughavin found James Ledden with a 35-yard scoring pass at the halftime horn to cap a two-play, 81-yard drive as North Shore led 33-7 at the half.

Island Trees 14, Oyster Bay 7: John Craine’s 91-yard TD run with 8:20 left in the third quarter proved to be the winning score for Island Trees (1-4). Craine recorded 128 yards and one TD on 22 carries. Kenny Madden tied the score at 7 for Island Trees late in the second quarter with a 30-yard touchdown carry after a 4-yard scoring run by Oyster Bay quarterback Charles Collette.

Malverne 37, West Hempstead 7: Dante Lacroix ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Malverne (4-1). West Hempstead’s Timmy Shanley scored first on a 10-yard run, but Malverne answered on Amarie Reyes’ 10-yard run. The Mules broke the game open in the second quarter, when Lacroix broke free for scoring runs of 24 and 48 yards for a 24-7 lead. Lacroix, who ran six times for 104 yards, threw five times and connected with Maurice Teachey for touchdowns of 15 and 99 yards.
