Parkers touchdown leads Roosevelt in overtime

Erin Parker's 13-yard run in overtime proved to be the winning score, and Parker also ran the ball in for the two-point conversion to lead Roosevelt over Floral Park, 28-20, yesterday in Nassau Conference IV football. Parker rushed for 109 yards on 13 carries.

Frank Ilozue came into the game for the first time for Roosevelt (4-0) with Floral Park (2-2) facing fourth-and-goal and sacked Casey Giarrantana to end the game and seal the victory.

Roosevelt had a 20-7 lead in the fourth quarter but Floral Park scored twice to send the game to overtime. The Knights got the ball back after Roosevelt turned the ball over on downs at its own 30-yard line with less than a minute to go. Ronell Jones threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Amir Lott and Giarrantana ran in the two-point conversion to tie the score at 20.

Donte Colter had 184 yards and three touchdowns on 30 attempts for Roosevelt. Manny Jones had 13 tackles and one sack and Jamel Wilson added seven tackles for Roosevelt.
