Simon Kalu completed 12 of 19 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for 52 yards and two touchdowns as Elmont defeated Calhoun, 38-10, yesterday in Nassau Conference II football. Kendall St. Louis returned the opening kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown for Elmont (4-2). Matt Brutus and Anthony Thompson intercepted passes in the final two minutes of the first half. Both turnovers led to touchdowns, giving the Spartans a 32-7 halftime lead.

Carey 41, Herricks 0: Mike DeLeo rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries to lead Carey (6-0). Carey wide receiver Nick Spillane returned a punt 60 yards for a score late in the first quarter. Ray Catapano completed 6 of 7 passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns.

Long Beach 43, South Side 14: Chris Parler had 16 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown and also completed 3 of 6 passes for 40 yards and a touchdown to lead Long Beach (4-2). The score was tied at 14 at halftime before Long Beach scored 29 unanswered points. Eric Zeppa returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown, and Tyreek Bromley had a 40-yard interception return.

Mepham 55, Bellmore JFK 21:Tyler Davis had 192 yards and six touchdowns on 15 carries and was 12-for-15 for 103 yards passing to lead Mepham (3-3) Friday. Chris Durkin had 15 carries for 99 yards and a TD and made nine tackles.

MacArthur 40, Westbury 26: Jimmy Kelleher and Carmine Criscione combined to score four consecutive TDs in the second half as MacArthur (3-3) pulled away late on Friday night. Trailing 19-13 in the third quarter, Criscione rushed for a 7-yard TD to make it 20-19 and Kelleher's 1-yard TD run with two minutes left in the third made it 27-19. On MacArthur's first possession in the fourth, Kelleher hit Tom McAndrew for a 45-yard TD to make it 34-19. Criscione's 2-yard score in the fourth made it 40-19. Kelleher completed 13 of 24 passes for 218 yards.
