Sean Gilroy found Lucas Savocchi for a 22-yard touchdown pass to give Northport a third-quarter lead on the way to a 24-10 upset at Floyd in a Suffolk I football game yesterday. Gilroy was 11-for-14 passing for 160 yards for Northport (5-2), Cody Swing added 60 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and John Trainor had nine carries for 61 yards. Floyd is 5-2.

Ward Melville 41, Patchogue-Medford 36: Trailing by 10 in the second quarter, Ward Melville (5-2) scored three straight touchdowns on the way to defeating Patchogue-Medford (3-4). Brendan Hegarty had 162 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, Jake Biro had 155 yards and two TDs on 15 carries and Brendan Dooley had 103 yards and two TDs on four carries. Biro's 9-yard score gave Ward Melville the lead and a 20-yard TD reception by Dooley from Biro made it a two-score game. Biro was 9-for-12 passing for 121 yards and a TD. Matt Corrie led Ward Melville with 12 tackles.

Connetquot 41, Central Islip 7:Brian McKean was 7-for-13 passing for 142 yards and three TDs to lead Connetquot (7-0) over Central Islip (0-7). James Higgins had four catches for 83 yards and two TDs. Tyler Nason made a one-handed 40-yard TD pass to make it 14-7. Marcus Gutierrez had 84 yards and two TDs on seven carries. Ryan Renfroe had seven tackles, a forced fumble and he broke up three passes.

Bay Shore 40, Sachem East 0: Matthias Eato ran for 202 yards and four TDs on 20 carries to lead Bay Shore (3-4) over Sachem East (3-4) on Friday. Eato, 17 rushing yards from 1,000 for the season, had five tackles and a blocked punt. Bay Shore took a 34-0 lead into halftime when Jake Sheets passed to Joel Nunez for a 26-yard TD. Ousmane Camara had 16 tackles. Gerrel Irvin had three tackles and a fumble recovery and Austin Clayton added three tackles, a fumble recovery, and a sack.

Commack 35, Brentwood 21: Paul Maline had four receptions for 76 yards and a TD and he also returned a punt 60 yards for a TD to make it 35-0 early in the second quarter to lead Commack (5-2) over Brentwood (1-6). Ryan Heizman was 6-for-10 passing for 149 yards and two TDs. Willy Monroy rushed for 85 yards on five carries, including a 29-yard TD run. Andrew Caccamo had three catches for 75 yards, including a 22-yard TD pass. John Donovan finished with seven tackles and three sacks, and Kevan Scott added six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Sachem North 35, Longwood 21: Tyler Andreassi ran for 115 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries to lead Sachem North (5-2) over Longwood (2-5). Sophomore Kevin Bragaglia added 105 yards on 10 carries. Malik Pierre ran for 98 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Andreassi led the defense with seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Bragaglia and Chris Biryla both had interceptions.

Lindenhurst 62, Half Hollow Hills East 42: Sean Valera completed all 10 of his pass attempts for 145 yards and three TDs for Lindenhurst (2-5). Peter Mangione had 148 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, including the game's first score on a 64-yard run. Anthony Lanzeri had 102 yards and two TDs on 10 carries and he threw a 56-yard TD pass to Jon Tait on a Wildcat pass play in the third quarter that put Lindenhurst ahead 48-33. Quarterback R.J. Nitti threw for five TDs and rushed for one for HHHE (3-4).
