Lauden Hendricks ran 4 yards for a touchdown to tie it with 3:30 minutes remaining before Jackson McFayden’s extra point gave Smithtown East (1-1) a 21-20 win over Copiague on Friday.

One of C.J. Perrier’s four sacks forced a fumble that Mike Dixon recovered on Copiague’s 14-yard line to set up the score. Smithtown East trailed 20-7 entering the fourth quarter and cut the lead to six with an 8-yard touchdown run by Hendricks with less than nine minutes to go.

Hendricks rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

North Babylon 36, Deer Park 21: Brandon Sobotker rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries to lead North Babylon (2-0). Sobotker scored on a 2-yard run and a 35-yarder in the second half as North Babylon scored 36 unanswered points. David Estrella put North Babylon ahead for good with a 1-yard score and he tacked on a 9-yard touchdown in the second.

Half Hollow Hills West 39, Huntington 6: Alexander Filacouris’ 60-yard touchdown run on the second play gave Half Hollow Hills West a 6-0 lead. Cameron Jordan had two receiving touchdowns. Gerald Filardi completed 6 of 13 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Deyvon Wright had 186 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.

Newfield 39, Half Hollow Hills East 26: Max Mastroianni had 104 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries to lead Newfield (2-0). Josh Rubbo had five tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Bellport 36, Centereach 20: Jimmy Morrell found Dequan Wilson on a 38-yard touchdown pass to give Bellport (2-0) a 30-20 lead with six minutes remaining. Morrell completed 10 of 14 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns and he added 60 rushing yards with two scores. Wilson had four receptions and 86 receiving yards.

West Islip 41, Riverhead 0: Jake Guercio ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns to lead West Islip (2-0). Drew Cestaro 85 yards and a touchdown on eight rushing attempts.
