Tristan Hogan blocked an extra point attempt with 3:04 remaining to help Westhampton seal a wild 42-41 Suffolk III opener against Kings Park. Hogan’s block occurred after a 9-yard touchdown pass from Paul Cooper to Dylan Winwood. Kings Park regained possession with 1:48 remaining, but quarterback Paul Cooper scrambled for 30 yards and was stopped at his own 38-yard line as time expired. Cooper completed 21 of 37 passes for 402 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns on 15 attempts.

Westhampton took a 42-35 lead in the third quarter after two scores by Dylan Laube — a 68-yard run and a 19-yard pass from Hogan. Laube finished with 16 carries for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Harborfields 14, Eastport-South Manor 13: Andrew Loiacono intercepted a pass in the end zone with two seconds left to seal the win for Harborfields. It was Loiacono’s second pick of the game.

Harborfields took the 14-13 lead after P.J. Clementi ran one yard for a touchdown with 1:50 left. Tom Sangiovanni’s 20-yard kick return to the 50 yard line shortened the field for the game-winning drive. Clementi also threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Buda to help Harborfields tie the score at 7 in the first quarter.

Steven Holder had 14 carries for 77 yards, Dom Paresi had a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown and Steven Smocer had two receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown.

Rocky Point 34, Comsewogue 13: Pete LaSalla had three touchdowns — including the go-ahead 11-yard rushing score five minutes into the third quarter — to pace Rocky Point. LaSalla ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries and caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown. Alec Rinaldi rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts and also recovered a fumble. Stephen Psillos (one fumble recovery), Doug Palmer (one sack), Vinny Ayers (eight tackles) and Jake Wandle (five) led the defense.

East Islip 37, Islip 0: Kyle Fleitman completed 4 of 5 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown to lead East Islip. Fleitman also had 13 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown and picked off a pass. Justin Tavares had 11 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns, and Mike Drywa added four carries for 53 yards and a touchdown. Justin Orobello had two receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown.
