Matt Tufano caught a 28-yard pass from Kyle Tiernan in the second quarter and Christian Holder, Peter Noonan, and Damien Caffrey combined on a tackle on fourth-and-short from Glenn’s 24-yard line with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to seal a 16-12 win for the Knights (4-1) over Shoreham-Wading River yesterday in Suffolk IV.
Noonan had 11 tackles and Caffrey added a sack. Tiernan completed 13 of 21 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns and had 10 carries for 50 yards.
Southampton/Pierson 36, Mercy 14: Aaron Napier had three rushing touchdowns and 335 yards on 34 carries to lead Southampton/Pierson (2-3). His second score, a 4-yard run in the second quarter, gave the Mariners an 18-7 lead before the half. Shaundel Crumpton had two touchdowns and 89 yards on eight carries.
Miller Place 42, Bayport-Blue Point 6: Anthony Seymour completed 10 of 13 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 119 yards and a touchdown on seven carries to lead Miller Place (4-1). Seymour’s 20-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter extended Miller Place’s lead to 14-0. Kevin Gersbeck hauled in a 67-yard touchdown pass to open scoring. He had seven receptions for 173 yards and three touchdowns.
Babylon 35, Mt. Sinai 14: Scott Sasso rushed for 218 yards on 15 carries and scored three touchdowns (10, 36, 47 yards). Sasso also threw for two more as Babylon (5-0) remained undefeated. Jason Carlock caught three passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Taylor Tanner had seven tackles and four sacks.
Wyandanch 36, Greenport/Southold/Mattituck 16: Alexander Odle was six-for-10 for 139 yards and a touchdown, and also had 12 carries for 127 yards and a touchdown for Wyandanch (4-1). Jamonie Berry had nine carries for 89 yards and one touchdown and also caught a touchdown pass.
Port Jefferson 36, Center Moriches 20: Thomas Mark caught two touchdown passes, including a 57-yard throw from Jack Collins with 1:10 left in the first half that gave Port Jefferson (3-2) a 20-12 halftime lead. Mark had 67 receiving yards and 24 rushing yards. Joey Evangelista rushed for 201 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.
Hampton Bays 28, East Hampton/Bridgehampton 16: Quinn Smith’s 23-yard touchdown run with 7:40 left in the second quarter gave Hampton Bays (2-3) a 28-8 lead. Colin Smith had 84 rushing yards, 19 receiving yards and caught two touchdowns.
