Suffolk IV football roundup


Tyler Ammirato ran for 218 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries to lead Miller Place over Mount Sinai, 34-21, in Suffolk IV on Friday night.

Miller Place scored 21 consecutive points spanning the second through fourth quarters after falling behind 14-13.

Ammirato’s final two touchdowns came on runs of 35 and 5 yards for Miller Place (5-2).

Port Jefferson 8, Greenport/Southold/Mattituck 6: Jack Collins connected with Sean Griffin on a 30-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and Thomas Mark ran in the two-point conversion for the winning score for Port Jefferson.

Greenport/Southold/Mattituck recovered an onside kick to open the second half and scored after Sean Sepenoski caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Fonseca.

Port Jefferson (5-2) recovered three fumbles in the game, including two in the fourth quarter.

Nick Kafeiti recovered a fumble with eight minutes remaining just inside Port Jefferson territory and Griffin recovered another with less than four minutes remaining after Greenport/Southold/Mattituck moved the ball to the Port Jefferson 40-yard line.

Mercy 21, East Hampton/Bridgehampton 6: John Biola had 179 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries to lead Mercy. Ryan Razzano completed 8 of 11 passes for 76 yards for Mercy (1-6). John Urrico caught four passes for 55 yards.

Shoreham-Wading River 47, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Chris Gray ran seven times for 235 yards and four touchdowns to lead Shoreham-Wading River. His touchdown runs of 35, 63 and 45 yards gave the Wildcats a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. Chris Sheehan ran 11 times for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Center Moriches 43, Wyandanch 16: Sam Cilla completed 14 of 20 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns and ran 25 times for 174 yards and four touchdowns to lead Center Moriches.

Center Moriches recovered an onside kick to open the game, leading to a 21-yard touchdown pass from Cilla to Timmy Delgado. Center Moriches (2-5) followed that with another onside kick recovery and Delgado hauled in another touchdown pass to extend the lead to 14-0.

Delgado had six receptions for 106 yards and two scores.

Hampton Bays 34, Southampton/Pierson 16: Colin Smith ran for 48 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries and had five tackles to lead Hampton Bays (4-3) in Suffolk IV. Quinn Smith ran for 50 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
