Connetquot has been running over opponents this season. But this week it was the passing game that grabbed the headlines. Senior quarterback Ricky Hahn fired three touchdown passes to wide receiver Tyler Nason as the T-Birds beat Ward Melville, 45-21, in a Suffolk I football game. Hahn completed 14 of 18 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another 31 yards on five carries to lead Connetquot (7-1). Nason caught six passes for 102 yards and three scores. The do-it-all Michael Ansaldi returned two punts for touchdowns, one for 65 yards and the other for 67. He also added four tackles for a loss, including two and a half sacks. Halfback Marcus Gutierrez ran 17 times for 141 yards and a score. Ward Melville is 2-6.

Sachem North 21, Patchogue-Medford 7: Halfback Malik Pierre had 176 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries to lead Sachem North (6-2). Pierre opened the scoring halfway through the second quarter when he scored on a 68-yard run off a fake punt on a fourth down and three call from his own 20 yardline. Pierre eclipsed the 2,000 yard rushing mark (2,132) for his career in the game, according to head coach Dave Falco. Anthony Service and Anthony Ross each scored touchdowns on one-yard runs in the third quarter to open up the game. Sachem North had 403 total yards and held Patchogue-Medford to just 159. Patchogue-Medford is 5-3.

Floyd 21, Longwood 6: Halfback Chris Faison had 21 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown to lead Floyd (6-2). Quarterback Eric Brust finished 5-for-9 for 115 yards and a touchdown and ran for 49 yards on 10 carries. Faison scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter and Brust hit Elijah Rios for a 7-yard touchdown to send the Colonials to a 14-0 halftime lead. Vinny Labate sealed the victory when he returned a punt 60-yards for a touchdown with just over four minutes remaining. Longwood is 3-5.

Brentwood 49, Sachem East 28: Jude Innocent had 117 yards of total offense and three touchdowns, including a 20-yard scoring run with 5:42 left in the second quarter to give Brentwood (3-5) a 28-7 halftime lead. Lavalle Hall completed 4 of 8 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns and carried nine times for 103 yards and a rushing score. Kyle Dempsey had 95 yards on 17 carries and Jason Niehr had a 46-yard TD catch and a 97-yard fumble return for a score. David Smith had a 20-yard interception return for a TD and Jose Jimenez went 7-for-7 in PATs in the win. Sachem East is 2-6.Half Hollow Hill West, 28, West Islip 21: The Half Hollow Hills West football was playing for a playoff berth in Suffolk II yesterday. And the Colts responded with a herculean effort to beat West Islip. Quarterback Anthony Lucarelli completed nine of 16 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown and added 101 yards rushing and a score to lead Half Hollow Hills West. Rahim Rambo got Hills West on the board with a 20-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown early in the third quarter and Hills West (5-3) scored the last three touchdowns, including a 9-yard scoring pass from Lucarelli to Josh Connor with 9:14 remaining. Joseph Cipoletti sealed the win with an interception. West Islip falls to 5-3.

Smithtown West 41, Centereach 7: Ryan Keenan returned two punts for touchdowns in the first half, and Matt Heldberg completed 8 of 11 passes for 137 yards and two scores as Smithtown West (7-1) rolled. Linebacker Daniel Cox led Smithtown with 12 tackles and two sacks. Centereach finished 1-7.

Riverhead 21, Newfield 8: Jeremiah Cheatom rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries and two touchdowns to lead Riverhead (7-1). Cheatom's 11-yard touchdown run and 4-yard score put the Blue Waves up 13-8 at halftime. Kenny Simco completed 10 of 17 passes for 119 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. Ryan Hubbard's 20-yard touchdown reception from Simco with 5:48 remaining in the third quarter was the final margin. Hubbard finished with three receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. Raheem Brown had 11 tackles and a sack. Newfield falls to 5-3.

Central Islip 40, Copiague 6: Senior running back Kevin Mowatt rushed for 186 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries to lead Central Islip (4-4). Mowatt broke a run around the outside for a 16-yard touchdown run with 3:52 remaining in the half, giving Central Islip a 22-0 lead. Halfback Denzel Abolo rushed for 94 yards on eight carries. Copiague is 1-7.

East Islip 41, Smithtown East 7: Quarterback Jack Hannigan carried 17 times for 161 yards and a score and completed four of five passes for 34 yards and a score. Smithtown is 5-3.

Bay Shore 49, Whitman 6: Quarterback Ryan Mazzie completed five of six passes for 320 yards and five touchdowns to lead Bay Shore (3-5). Jaquan Moore had two receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Cordell Nix caught two passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns and also had a 76-yard kickoff return for a score. Whitman finished 2-6.
