Quarterback Jake Biro scored a 1-yard touchdown on a stretch run off right tackle, diving into the end zone, with 14 seconds left to give Ward Melville a 35-28 win over Lindenhurst in League I on Friday night. The Patriots mounted an 82-yard drive to score after getting the ball with 4:18 remaining and trailing 28-27. Tom LoRussa intercepted Lindenhurst's Hail Mary pass to end the game. Anthony Lanzieri's 2-yard touchdown run had put the Bulldogs ahead with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Biro ran for 205 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries to lead the Patriots. This was the senior's second consecutive game with four touchdowns. Michael Troy ran for 170 yards and a score and made nine tackles. Outside linebacker Tom Kellerman had 15 tackles, including three for losses, for Ward Melville (2-0).

Longwood 20, Half Hollow Hills East 7: Luke Soriano's 10-yard touchdown with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter gave Longwood a 20-0 lead. Soriano's six yard run in the first quarter put the Lions on the board first. Dashawn Taylor ran for 102 yards and scored on a 20-yard run in the third quarter. Antonio Scala made seven tackles to lead Longwood (1-1) in Suffolk I.

Commack 20, Sachem East 7: Jesse Kilmetis' one-yard TD run with four seconds left in the first half capped a nine-play, 50-yard drive and gave Commack (2-0) a 13-7 lead in Suffolk I. Rob Paccione ran for a 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter and connected with Matthew Recek for a 28-yard TD pass in the third quarter to make it 20-7. Commack limited Sachem East (0-2) to just 54 yards of total offense, led by Josh Valentin's 15 tackles, Johnny Meir's interception and eight tackles and John Engberg's seven tackles.

Patchogue-Medford 51, Brentwood 27: Senior Anthony Lee set career highs with 301 passing yards and three touchdowns to lead Patchogue-Medford (1-1) over Brentwood (0-2) in Division I on Friday night. Rob Kohler recovered a fumble in the end zone after Adam Mims stripped the quarterback of the ball, which gave Patchogue-Medford a 20-0 lead with 5:02 left in the quarter. Kevin Morrissey's 53-yard touchdown catch from Lee gave Patchogue-Medford a 30-7 lead right before halftime. On the first play of the second half, Morrissey ran a slant pattern from the left and caught a 52-yard touchdown pass from Lee. Connor Coughlin caught six passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns for Patchogue-Medford. Sean Christie had nine tackles and Tyler Conlon had eight tackles for Patchogue-Medford.
