Wienclaw's field goal lifts Kellenberg in OT

Timmy Wienclaw hit a 27-yard field goal in overtime to lift Kellenberg to a 24-21 non-league win over Chaminade yesterday. It was the first time Kellenberg had ever beaten Chaminade.

Gary Lamb set up the field goal with his second interception of the game on Chaminade's first possession in overtime. Chaminade tied the score at 21 on a field goal by Kevin Donohue with 4:30 left in regulation.

Wienclaw scored on TD catches of 52 and 74 yards on passes from Nick Fiore in the third quarter to give make it 21-10 for Kellenberg (1-0). Fiore went 14-for-23 for 212 yards, Wienclaw had six catches for 142 yards and Evan Calvo rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries. Anthony Gravina had seven tackles and Matt Renieri had five tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery for Kellenberg.

Holy Trinity 21, St. Francis Buffalo 19: Mike Williams recovered four fumbles and had a 1-yard TD run for Holy Trinity (1-0). Mike Macchio scored on a 32-yard pass from Chris Lavaino to give HT a 14-6 lead. Louis Cotrone rushed for 127 yards and a TD, and Lavaino was 8-for-15 for 110 yards and a TD.

Long Island Lutheran 48, Cardinal Spellman 13: Jordan Channer had 14 carries for 90 yards and three touchdowns and Tyquan Garner added 88 yards on 10 carries for Long Island Lutheran (1-1). Brandon Alford rushed six times for 97 yards and two touchdowns for LIL.
