Galantino wins Catholic girls golf title

Isabel Galantino of St. Anthony's shot an 8-over 80 at Harbor Links Golf Course and took first place at the CHSAA individual girls golf championship on Monday.

Alaina Calmi (St. Mary's), Caroline Kenny (Sacred Heart), Elizabeth Abbodandolo (Our Lady of Mercy), Erin Bergano (Our Lady of Mercy) and Taylor Lambrou (Holy Trinity) finished second through sixth and qualified along with Galantino for the Catholic state tournament June 7 at Silver Lake Golf Course on Staten Island.


Holy Trinity 6.5, Archbishop Molloy .5:Michael O'Rourke shot 2-under 34 on the front nine at Eisenhower White to lead Holy Trinity (5-8) in CHSAA.


Massapequa 156, Farmingdale 105.5, Uniondale 99, Syosset 52.5, Freeport 51, Oceanside 18, Hempstead 13: Emily Marchini won the 3,000 (10:53) and Shannon McBrien won the 800 (2:17) to lead Massapequa to its third consecutive Division 1A title. Plainview JFK 4, Herricks 3: Roey Heymann and Adam Fishelberg defeated Ben Pleat and Posha Shopouri, 6-4, 6-7 (9), 6-3, at first doubles to clinch the Conference II championship for No. 1 Plainview JFK (13-1). Corey Morgenstern completed an undefeated season with a 6-4, 6-3 win at first singles over Alan Pleat.
