The quote "I was sick for the semifinal game and had to give this game everything," she said of the county championship game. "I was much more aggressive and it was really exciting. I was determined to score and I just didn't want the game, or the season, to end."
History Hartley has played basketball since she was in second grade, beginning with the North Babylon CYO team. She finds her strength in her pull-up jump shot and the way that she handles the ball; she would like to work on her defense when facing other guards. Before games she likes to meet with her personal trainer and shoot to get loose. Hartley was named Gatorade New York girls basketball player of the year for the second straight year. What's next Hartley will be attending the University of Connecticut next year to play for a team that has won a record 72 straight games. Before then, she will be playing in the McDonald's All-American game on March 31 in Columbus, Ohio, as well as the Nike All-American game on April 3 in San Antonio.
