Girls roundup: Emily Stephens stars in Kings Park win

Emily Stephens had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Kings Park over Islip, 59-55, Friday in Suffolk League V girls basketball.

Islip senior Shannon Duer scored 29 points, including the 1,000th of her career on a free throw with 2:19 remaining. She also had 16 rebounds.

Emily Santoli had 14 points, and Brittany Mueller added six points and 10 rebounds for Kings Park (3-0). Kristen Picciano's steal and layup gave the Kingsmen their first lead at 47-45 with 20 seconds left in the third quarter and they didn't relinquish it.

Center Moriches 58, Mattituck 50: Takia Plummer had 21 points, five steals and four assists to lead Center Moriches (2-1) in League VII. Claire Brady had 18 points, four assists and four steals. Allie Wilcenski scored 13 points for Mattituck.

Brentwood 51, Patchogue-Medford 40: Natasha Almonacy had 18 points, Alexia Douglas 16 points and six rebounds and Brianna Reed's tough defense led Brentwood (5-1, 2-1) in League I.

Glenn 50, Bayport-Blue Point 32: Tanna Mohammad scored 14 points to lead Glenn (2-0) in VI. Mackenzie Sivilli added four points and 12 rebounds.

Southampton 65, Babylon 48: Paris Hodges had 24 points, eight rebounds, eight steals and five assists for Southampton (2-0) in VII. Kesi Goree had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Carley Guida had eight steals for Southampton.Port Jefferson 51, Pierson-Bridgehampton 38: Courtney Lewis and Olivia Raccanelli each scored 13 points, and Jillian Colucci had eight points to lead Port Jeff (2-0) in VIII.

Hampton Bays 71, Wyandanch 30: Alexis Fotopoulos had 11 points and 15 assists, and Trish Liotta scored 14 points to lead Hampton Bays (1-2) in League VII.

Division 36, Sewanhaka 35: Laura Stuart had 23 rebounds and Tiffany Rodriguez scored eight points to lead Division (3-0) in Nassau Conference A-II. Trish Mollo's basket put the Blue Dragons up 36-33 with a minute left. Sewanhaka's Jenny Pechacek pulled her team within a point and Stuart grabbed an offensive rebound to seal the win. Shantell McCall scored 13 points for Sewanhaka.

Great Neck South 46, Elmont 41:Daisy Xu had 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Great Neck South (2-1) in IV. Dylan Livers added nine points and three steals off the bench.

Bethpage 50, Plainedge 39: Jacqueline Zizzo had 15 points and nine assists for Bethpage (2-0) in A-II. Danielle Nendza added 13 points and 10 rebounds and Nicole D'Angio had 16 rebounds for Bethpage.

Island Trees 42, West Hempstead 28: Kristin Duthie scored 15 points and Brianna Wilson 13 for Island Trees (2-1) in A-IV.

Wheatley 47, East Rockaway 28: Rebecca Braito scored 19 points and Chelsea Pincus had 11 points and six assists for Wheatley (2-1) in BC.Oyster Bay 56, Malverne 30:Hannah Kaiser scored 15 to lead Oyster Bay (2-1) in BC and Stephanie Mattocks had 11 points and seven rebounds.

St. Mary's 59, Kellenberg 34: Mei-Lyn Bautista had 20 points and six assists to lead St. Mary's (2-0) in CHSAA. Jordan Augustus added 16 points and seven rebounds for St. Mary's. Kathleen Meyer scored 16 points for Kellenberg.


Plainview JFK 161.3, Cold Spring Harbor 78:Victoria Vitale took first in the all-around with a 33.55. She scored 9.3 on the floor exercise and 8.75 on beam to lead Plainview JFK (4-0) in Conference I. Ashley Bellino took first on vault with 8.25 and Katrina Migliorini won the uneven bars with 8.6.

Garden City 121.85, Roslyn 112.5: Caitlin Powderly won the vault with 7.75 to lead Garden City (2-2) in II.
