1.     Kellenberg (6-2): The Firebirds opened the week with a big win over St. Anthony’s, 55-49. They used a 21-6 fourth quarter to rally from a nine-point deficit after three quarters. Emma O’Connor had 12 of her 22 points in the final quarter. The Firebirds also lost to St. Mary’s, 65-59. St. Mary’s hit 14 three-pointers. 

2.     St. Anthony’s (11-2): The Friars lost to No. 1 Kellenberg, 55-49. The Friars had a 43-34 lead after three quarters. St. Anthony’s then defeated Our Lady of Mercy, 35-21.

3.     North Babylon (7-1): The Bulldogs continue to crush teams in a weak Suffolk League III. They defeated Centereach, 92-25; beat West Islip, 78-24 and Smithtown East, 85-31. Senior Katrina Plummer had a career-high 25 points against Smithtown East.

4.     Sachem East (7-3): The Flaming Arrows played just one game and defeated Longwood, 87-46. Kristen Doherty had 28 points and seven steals and Meagan Doherty scored 16 points.

5.     St. John the Baptist (6-7): The Cougars are finally healthy and had three easy wins last week beating Holy Trinity (62-24), St. Dominic (60-29) and Collegiate (66-25). A trio of Alexis Smith, Kamala Thompson and Brianna Thompson will make the Cougars a tough out in the postseason.

6.     Long Island Lutheran (13-1): The Crusaders continue to pile up the wins with two more last week. They defeated the Hopkins School (Conn.), 53-31. Christina Raiti scored 17 points and Paige Kriftcher and Sam Millhaven each scored 12. LIL also defeated St. John Villa (Staten Island), 59-29 behind 10 points and eight rebounds from Jessica DeNicola.

7.  St. Mary’s (8-3): The Gaels won two league games, including a win over No. 1 Kellenberg, 65-59 showing how competitive the CHSAA is. The Gaels hit 14 three-pointers. Shannon Flynn scored 21 points, including six three-pointers to become the all-time leading scorer at St. Mary’s with 1,370 points. Maddy Jankowski scored 19, including five three-pointers. The Gaels also beat St. Dominic, 65-35.
8. Ward Melville (10-2): The Patriots defeated Patchogue-Medford, 66-40 and also beat Floyd, 49-26.
9. Holy Trinity (7-4): The Titans lost their only game to St. John the Baptist, 62-24. The Titans are battling injuries as Katie Poppe is out with a concussion and Kelly Carey has a wrist injury.

10. Garden City (10-2): Garden City posted three wins last week. The Trojans are playing well despite senior point guard Diana Leondis playing at less than 100 percent because of an ankle injury.
