It was Senior Night at Long Island Lutheran tonight and Paige Kriftcher got a surprise. She was in the starting lineup in LuHi’s 66-59 win over Mary Louis.
Kriftcher, a senior guard, has been out since Jan. 9 with a torn left MCL. She started the game and was removed after 31 seconds and didn’t return.
“She’s the hardest worker I have ever coached,” Long Island Lutheran coach Rich Slater said. “She deserves this.”
Kriftcher will play when Long Island Lutheran plays in the Class B Federation semifinals on March 23. That is the next game for the Crusaders.
“She’s definitely playing,” Slater said. “She worked out yesterday. If the states were today, she would have played. She’s an integral part of the program. She would help Boogie [Brozoski]. She hasn’t got much rest.”
