Shantell McCall, Daniella Weinschreider lead Sewanhaka over Jericho

Shantell McCall had 28 points and 10 rebounds as No. 7 Sewanhaka topped 10th-seeded Jericho, 71-61, in a Nassau Class A first-round game Saturday.

Daniella Weinschreider hit five three-pointers for 22 points as Sewanhaka (13-5) outscored Jericho (6-12), 44-30, over the second and third quarters.

Daniella Ford added nine points, seven assists and five rebounds for Sewanhaka, which will play at No. 2 Wantagh on Wednesday in a quarterfinal. Wantagh 56, Island Trees 37: Demi Valenti scored all 16 of her points during a 28-20 first half and had six rebounds and four steals for No. 2 Wantagh (15-3) in Class A first-round contest. Alex Parlato added 11 points and 16 rebounds, and Christina Peden had nine points, five assists and four steals for the Warriors.Floral Park 39, Valley Stream North 29: Lorraine Hickman had 11 points and 15 rebounds and hit four out of five free throws in the fourth quarter to help seal the win for No. 4 Floral Park (13-5) in the first round of the Class A playoffs. Floral Park will host No. 5 Seaford in a quarterfinal on Wednesday.Seaford 61, Glen Cove 49: Jessica Rini had 22 points and seven rebounds Megan Russell added 20 points and seven rebounds for No. 5 Seaford (15-3) in a Class A first-round game. Division 62, Lawrence 50: Laura Stuart had 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead No. 3 Division (16-2) in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Division will host No. 6 Garden City in a quarterfinal on Wednesday.Garden City 53, West Hempstead 33: Tara DeAngelo had 12 points and eight steals and Taylor Carpentier added nine points and 11 rebounds as No. 6 Garden City (14-4) outscored No. 11 West Hempstead 33-20 in the second half in a Class A first-round game.

St. Mary's 50, Sacred Heart 36: Jordan Agustus had 17 points and six rebounds, Alyssa James had 10 points and 13 rebounds and Mei-Lyn Bautista had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead St. Mary's (12-0) in CHSAA on Friday.St. John the Baptist 58, Kellenberg 47: Lauren Williams had 19 points, six rebounds and four steals, Sydney Zambrotta had 17 points and four steals and Lauren Parra had eight points and 22 rebounds to lead St. John the Baptist (8-4) in CHSAA on Friday.
