Sileo's late free throws lift Wantagh past Elmont

Jackie Sileo hit a pair of free throws with six seconds left to give Wantagh (5-6) a 51-49 win over Elmont Tuesday in a Nassau Conference ABC-I girls basketball game. Elmont missed a potential tying shot at the buzzer. Staci Barrett tied the score at 49 for Elmont on a putback with 18 seconds left.

Kaleigh Craig had 15 points and Paula Schmidt 11 points and 10 rebounds for Wantagh.

Jasmine Cobbs scored 20 points for Elmont (2-8).

Roosevelt 52, Seaford 46: Simone Thomas scored 18 of her game-high 27 points in the second half and had seven rebounds to lead Roosevelt (8-2) in ABC-II. Nailah Cherry had six points and seven assists and Samantha Corbitt eight points and 11 rebounds. Steph Lebitz scored 11 points for Seaford (4-7).

Mount Sinai 48, Glenn 44: Emily Bongiorno had 16 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists to lead Mount Sinai (10-2) in Suffolk League II. Emma Klis and Allison McKenna each had 14 points for Glenn (8-4).

Kings Park 57, Sayville 54: Jamie Romano scored 14 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead Kings Park (12-0) in League V. Kelsey Clair of Sayvile (8-4) made a layup as time expired to send the game into overtime.

Stony Brook 63, Ross 7: Senior Sadie Singer's three-pointer on the first shot of the game gave her 1,002 points for her career, as Stony Brook (9-0) earned a League VIII win. She finished with 13 points and four assists. Emily Carmel added 12 points. Ross is 0-9.

Long Island Lutheran 64, Center Moriches 52: Jess DeNicola scored 10 of her 26 points in a 19-5 third quarter to lead Long Island Lutheran (15-2), which overcame a 32-29 first-half deficit in a non-league game. DeNicola also had 14 rebounds and four blocks. Sam Millhaven had 17 points, six rebounds and six assists and Christina Rait 16 points. Jessica Bandrowski and Amber Davis each scored 17 points for Center Moriches (10-5).
