Warren Fuller, one of the greatest girls basketball coaches in New York state history, retired last month. The Wyandanch coach is second all-time in wins in the state with 579. Fuller coached 33 years at Wyandanch.
"It was time," said Fuller. "There was nothing that occurred to cause it. I just wanted to free myself to do some things."
Fuller, who went 579-172, is a member of the BCNAY Hall of Fame and the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame. He guided the Warriors to 22 league titles, 18 classification titles, 13 Long Island championships, five Overall Suffolk titles, three public school state classification titles, and two Federation titles.
