Stay tuned for more of the "Mo and Ro Show."

Erica Modena, known as "Mo" on the field, scored two goals and Rosie DiMartino, called "Ro" by teammates, scored the game winner as No. 1 Massapequa defeated No. 3 Calhoun, 3-2, in the Class AA Nassau county championship Monday at Cold Spring Harbor High School.

"This means so much," DiMartino said. "As a team, we all wanted to win so bad."

Massapequa forced a turnover on a throw-in and DiMartino carried the ball down the left wing before placing a shot inside the far post with 26:52 remaining.

Modena opened the scoring after breaking free down the middle for a goal with 23:44 left in the first half. She made it 2-0 after charging the net and tipping the ball over the challenging keeper off a cross by Nicole Epstein with just over 10 minutes to go.

Calhoun's Michelle Iacono scored on an arching shot that was caught by the keeper but carried over the goal line to make it 2-1 52 seconds into the second half. She then found Taylor Sipos for the tying goal 4:25 later.

Massapequa faces Northport in the Long Island championship at 7:30 Tuesday at Dowling Sports Complex. "Last year we didn't make it this far," Modena said. "This year we're going out strong."
