Kristina Kim's hat trick keys title for Friends Academy girls

Kristina Kim scored a hat trick as Friends Academy topped Stony Brook, 5-1, in the Long Island Class C / Southeast Regional girls soccer final Tuesday night.

Katarina Heffron had a goal and an assist, Julia Kavan scored, Shekinah Pettway and Lindsay O'Sullivan each had an assist and Tolo Ojo had two saves for Friends (10-2-2), which faces Haldane in a state regional final at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Tully Park in New Hyde Park.

"I'm so proud of my team and what they have accomplished," coach Gail Baker said. "I had high hopes and aspirations for this team, but they surpassed all of my goals . . . I'm extremely proud of the way this group came together."
