Rebecca Walsh's goal helps OLMA advance to title game

Rebecca Walsh scored from 15 yards off a cross from Emma Glynn in the 25th minute as top-seeded Our Lady of Mercy Academy defeated No. 4 St. Dominic, 2-0, in the CHSAA Class A girls soccer semifinals Monday. Annie Brozek scored in the 52nd minute to give the Mustangs a two-goal lead. Jen Sparacino made five saves. OLMA advances to host No. 2 Holy Trinity in the championship game at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Holy Trinity 3, Archbishop Molloy 1: Rachel Luebke scored twice, including the go-ahead goal off an assist from Mariella Gotti in the 33rd minute to break a 1-1 tie and lift No. 2 Holy Trinity (6-7-1) over No. 3 Molloy in the CHSAA Class A semifinals. Meg Cleary tied the game with a header off a corner kick by Hannah Woodward in the 29th minute.

South Side 2, Garden City 1: Jessica Mauro scored the winner with 8:22 left as South Side (10-1-1) clinched the Conference A-I title. Juliana Pellegrini tied the game in the 35th minute on a header off a free kick from Kelsey Ford.

Hewlett 2, Floral Park 1: Nathalie Nidetch shifted from goalkeeper to forward with seven minutes left and scored the winner, her first goal of the season, with 1:53 left to lead Hewlett (4-7-3) in Conference A-IV.

Calhoun 1, Mepham 0: Kayla Cappuzzo fed Nora Charidah for a score in the 50th minute to lift Calhoun (6-3-3) in Conference AA-I.

Carle Place 1, North Shore 0: Catherine Gambino scored on a corner kick in the 45th minute to lead Carle Place (1-10-1) in Conference A-II. Karla Gomes made nine saves, including a series of point-blank stops.

West Hempstead 3, Lynbrook 2: Nina Boria scored two goals as West Hempstead (10-1-1) clinched the Conference ABC-III title. Lisette Palomo scored and Jackie Christenson had nine saves.

Bayport-Blue Point 1, Center Moriches 0: Ally Constantine scored the winner on a rebound after a shot by Monica Guerrero with 14 minutes remaining to lead Bayport-Blue Point (7-2-2) in League VI.

Port Jefferson 4, Babylon 1: Jill Colucci had two goals and Olivia Racanelli and Mairead Swords each had a goal and an assist to lead Port Jefferson (12-1) in League VII.

Comsewogue 6, Rocky Point 0: Seaver Lipshie had two goals and two assists and Emily Bergold a goal and three assists to lead Comsewogue (5-5-1) in League V.

BOYSCommack 2, Brentwood 1: Zach Pogrob scored the winner off a Connor Gill corner kick to lead Commack (8-2-1) in League I. Eric Molina scored nine minutes into the second half on an assist from Kevin Alvarado to tie the score. Justin Cebollero opened the scoring in the first half for Commack.

Sachem North 4, Northport 3: Matthew Riss scored the winner on an assist from Nick Plate 1:43 into the second overtime to lead Sachem North (9-3-1) in League II. Brandon Arango of Sachem North tied the score with 1:39 left in regulation off an assist from Harrison Weilbacher, who scored two goals.

Copiague 2, North Babylon 1: Jonathan Gomez fired into the back of the net from 20 yards in the 41st minute to break a scoreless tie for Copiague (8-5) in League III. Jose Gonzalez sealed the win with a chip shot from 18 yards with 20 minutes left. Alexis Batres made nine saves.
