Suffolk girls soccer county finals: The full story

Two great games on Wednesday as Islip and Ward Melville each won county championships.  Unfortunately, only half of the story was told in the limited space available in the newspaper.  For the full story, click the links below:

Islip had a thrilling 3-2 win over Bayport-Blue Point in which Dominique Capolongo scored the golden goal and Lauren Sparks tied the game off a corner kick by Morgan Santoro with just 2.5 seconds remaining to force overtime.  Best game I've seen all season.

Ward Melville captured its first county title in school history with a 1-0 win over Northport.  Ally Ramos made 15 saves in the shutout against the Kristi Abbate/Rosy Hayes-led Tigers and Tara O'Hern scored the lone goal off a corner kick by Adrianna Morra.  Evenly-matched, well-played game by both teams.

We also hope to have additional reaction from Northport and Bayport-Blue Point posted on Thursday.
