Meet those who played their way onto Newsday's All-Long Island girls golf team for the 2016 season.
Long Island Golfer of the Year: Meg O'Mara, Sayville, Sr.
O'Mara shot a 5-over-par 149 over two rounds at Bethpage Yellow to place fifth in the state tournament. The Ball State-bound golfer also won the Suffolk County championship by shooting a 164 over two days at Middle Island Country Club, and led Sayville to the team county title.
Nikki Dilluvio, Kellenberg, Sr.
Dilluvio had the Catholic league's top average and finished seventh in CHSAA state tournament. She was also the top player on a Kellenberg team that won its third league title in four seasons.
Emilie Guo, Jericho, Soph.
Guo was instrumental in leading Jericho to a share of the Nassau County team title, as she shot a 155 at Bethpage to finish third in the county tournament. She also shot a 9-over-par 153 at Bethpage Yellow to tie for eighth in state.
Cassie Hall, Smithtown East, Sr.
Hall shot a 166 at Middle Island Country Club to tie for second in the Suffolk County tournament, and a 155 to tie for 11th in the state tournament.
Jenny Rosenberg, Cold Spring Harbor, Jr.
Rosenberg's well-rounded game was on display in the Nassau championship tournament, as she shot a 2-over-par 144 to win the county title.
Malini Rudra, Syosset, Fr.
Rudra tied for eighth in the state tournament to earn a second straight top-10 finish. She also helped lead the Braves to a third-straight Long Island team title, shooting a match-low 74 at Middle Island in a win over Sayville.
Coach of the Year: Keith Doran, Kellenberg
Doran led the undefeated Firebirds to their third league title in four years, and also had four players in the top four at the CHSAA league tournament.
