Carle Place, Pitcher, Junior
A very consistent pitcher with nice movement and great control who can work the corners. Struck out 128 batters while walking only 24 and finished with a 1.73 ERA.

Justin Lin, Smithtown West, badminton: Lin defeated Jesse Dietrichson, 15-5, 9-15, 15-13, at first singles to lead Smithtown West to a 5-4 win over Miller Place.

Frank Ziegler, MacArthur, baseball: Pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts in a 5-1 win over Port Washington.

Dave Palmer, East Islip, baseball: Big righty struck out 13 and allowed two hits in a 13-0 win over Newfield.

Joe Fusco, Clarke, baseball: He went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs in a 6-3 win over Valley Stream North.

Mike Reilly, Hicksville, baseball: Pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts in an eight-inning 3-0 win over Plainview JFK.

Tommy Strazza, Sachem North, baseball: He pitched 6 2/3 innings of three-hit ball in a 1-0 win over Ward Melville. He also had the winning RBI.

Joseph Fodera, Glenn, track: Fodera won the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.21 seconds at the St. Anthony's Invitational.

Kathleen Costello, Patchogue-Medford, track: Costello won the long jump (16-2) the triple jump (33-7) and the 100 hurdles (16.2 seconds) and also took second in the high jump (5-0) against Middle Country to lead the Red Raiders to their first League I crown in 15 years.

Kaitlyn Montalbano, St. John the Baptist, lacrosse: The sophomore set career highs with nine goals and seven assists in a 24-14 win over Holy Trinity.

Amanda Turturro, Farmingdale, lacrosse: The junior scored a career-high six goals, including four in the second half, leading a Dalers' comeback to upset Garden City, 13-12.

Andrea Levas, North Shore, softball: In the first game of her varsity career, the freshman went 2-for-3 and drove in both wins in a 2-0 win over Wantagh.

Ashley Cole, Carle Place, softball: She tossed the first perfect game in school history, striking out 15 in a 4-0 win over Glen Cove.

Kaitlin Muhlenforth, Connetquot, softball: The junior threw her first career no-hitter in a 12-1 win over Central Islip.

Matt Schultz, Smithtown West, lacrosse: The senior attack scored five goals against East Islip and had a school-record eight goals against Connetquot in a 21-4 win.
