1. MASSAPEQUA GIRLS SOCCER

The defending Class AA state champions are the lone unbeaten in Nassau Conference AA-I. Kristen Bischoff scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Calhoun as the Chiefs improved to 5-0-1.

2. SACHEM EAST FIELD HOCKEY

It's business as usual for the three-time defending Class A Long Island champs. The Flaming Arrows (6-0) have dominated, outscoring opponents 30-2. Sachem East, which won two state titles in three years, hasn't lost to a Long Island opponent since 2011.

3. ST. ANTHONY'S GIRLS SOCCER

The unbeaten Friars have outscored opponents 25-0 in their last five games. That streak was capped by a 5-0 win over Kellenberg in which Kayla Arestivo scored two goals.

4. MASSAPEQUA BOYS SOCCER

Massapequa is 6-0-1 with Andrew Prendergast and Peter Meyer leading a potent offense that has outscored opponents 15-1. Sean Nealis, at 6-4, wins several balls in the air and commands the defense each game.

5. ST. ANTHONY'S FOOTBALL

Quarterback Steven Genova threw for three touchdowns in a big win over Holy Cross as the Friars moved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the CHSFL. Hansen Award winner Jordan Gowins leads Long Island with 10 TDs.

6. HALF HOLLOW HILLS EAST GIRLS TENNIS

The defending Suffolk champions have continued to roll through Suffolk I with a 9-0 overall record and 6-0 in league. The Thunderbirds' biggest test came when they beat Floyd, 4-3, in a rematch of last season's final. Ester Chikvashvili has been strong at first singles.

7. CONNETQUOT FOOTBALL

The Thunderbirds rolled to three straight wins, including a 47-21 thumping of Sachem North, the defending Class I champion. The T-Birds were tested on the road against gritty Lindy last week in a 14-10 win.

8. KINGS PARK GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

With 52 consecutive league victories, Kings Park (6-0) continues to surge and appears fully equipped to contend for a fourth straight L.I. Class A championship. Senior Amanda Gannon notched her 1,000th career kill last week.

9. ST. ANTHONY'S BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The Friars took the top three spots in the Varsity B race at the Regis Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park on Sept. 20. Pat Tucker won in 12:52.80, Frederick Buckholtz was second in 13:02.45 and Ryan Dearie took third in 13:18.10.

10. LONGWOOD FOOTBALL

New coach Jeff Cipp, a big offensive line and some attitude has the Lions on top at 3-0. Halfback Isaiah White is exceptional and Longwood will compete for the Suffolk I title.
