1.SACHEM EAST FIELD HOCKEY The Flaming Arrows have recorded nine consecutive shutouts and feature a strong defense. Kristen Shanahan is tied for first among the Long Island leaders in points with 21 (13 goals, eight assists).

2. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS SOCCER Friars have allowed only one goal all season. The defending CHSAA state champions are led by All-Long Island selection Brianna Passaro (nine goals, five assists) and Brianna Jablonowski (10 goals, four assists).

3. PORT WASHINGTON GIRLS TENNIS The defending Long Island champions head into the final week of the Nassau season with an undefeated record. Thea Rabman won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles against Manhasset to extend the Vikings winning streak to 28 straight.

4. SACHEM NORTH BOYS VOLLEYBALL Setter Jack Driscoll continues to ignite Suffolk’s only undefeated team with a county-leading 118 kills.

5. SMITHTOWN BOYS CROSS COUNTRY Bulls placed second (107 points) in the Varsity AAA race at the 54th Annual McQuaid Invitational last weekend in Rochester. Nicolas DeFelice was 12th on the three-mile course in 15:11.20 and Kevin Cawley was 15th in 15:14.40.

6. SMITHTOWN WEST BOYS SOCCER The Bulls improved to 10-0 with a 1-0 victory over Copiague. The win marked Smithtown West’s eighth shutout of the season, as the squad has scored 32 goals while conceding just two. Ryan Grande has 10 goals.

7. ISLIP GIRLS SOCCER The Buccaneers, who lost in penalty kicks in the Suffolk A final last season, are off to another strong start, led by 14 goals and three assists from Dominique Bono and three goals and seven assists from Alyssa Sparks in an offense which has scored multiple goals in a 10-0 start.

8. LONG BEACH GIRLS VOLLEYBALL The Marines are 9-0 with no signs of slowing down in Nassau Class AA. Kathleen Verastegui set the program digs record last week, while Grace Rosenberg notched her 2,000th assist, according to coach Kerri Rehnback.

9. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS SWIMMING The Friars are looking for the school’s ninth straight league title. Junior Briana Gellineau, who finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.07) and sixth in the 500-free (5:00.10) at the state championships last season has the Friars off to a 4-0 start.

10. SACRED HEART GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY Sacred Heart finished second in the Varsity A race (63 points) at the Suffolk Coaches Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park. Maggie Maier won the 5-kilometer race in 19:29.96 and Shannon Thieke was seventh in 20:24.41.
