Novotny's 290 spurs PM bowling win

Eddie Novotny rolled a 290 in Game 1 of a 650 series as Patchogue-Medford set a school record in total pins (3,304) in a 3-0 win over Connetquot in boys bowling yesterday.

Mike Lebrecht shot 258 in the first game of a 696 series and R.J. Stephani bowled 255 in Game 2 of a 706 series as Patchogue-Medford (5-4) prevailed, 1,228-916, 1,027-1,023, 1,049-981.

Patchogue-Medford also set a school record with a score of 1,228 in Game 1.

Islip 3, Bellport 0: Bryan Greenblatt bowled 257 in Game 3 of a 628 series for Islip in a 959-909, 989-906, 1049-927 win. Half Hollow Hills 94, Lindenhurst 84: Michael Mattera won the 400-meter freestyle in 4:45.56 for Half Hollow Hills.GIRLS GYMNASTICSSewanhaka 161.75, Lawrence 142.35: Marisa Baccarella won the balance beam (8.5) for Sewanhaka and Caitlin Stroke won the all-around (33.85) to lead Lawrence.

Plainview JFK 161.25, Long Beach 131.75: Victoria Vitale won the all-around (34.5), the vault (9.1) and the floor (9.2) to lead Plainview JFK.GIRLS FENCING

Commack 16, Huntington 11: Sabina Kim went 3-0 in saber and Alexandra Ehrenman and Kristen Bucki each finished 3-0 in foil for Commack.
