Roccaro's OT goal for E. Islip tops Centereach girls

Cari Roccaro scored off an assist from Rebecca Carucci with 6:24 left in the first overtime to lead East Islip (7-2) as it defeated Centereach, 3-2, in League III girls soccer. Centereach's Jackie Granholm scored with five seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 2.

Newfield 4, West Islip 4: Brooke Kerrigan scored her second goal of the game with 17 minutes left for West Islip to force a tie at 4 with Newfield (0-9-1) in League III. Propelled by Jessica Laskowski's two goals, Newfield pulled ahead 4-0 at the half before West Islip's comeback. Newfield goalkeeper Alyssa Glassshagel made 10 saves in the game, including one on a first-half penalty kick.

Baldwin 2, Plainview JFK 1: Melissa Previl scored her second goal of the game in the 42nd minute to win it for Baldwin (4-3-3) in Conference AA-II. Amber Harrison made a clutch save off a corner kick with five seconds left to secure the win.

Division 1, Wantagh 0: Julie Ballantyne scored on Kayla Sheldrick's cross in the 65th minute to lead Division (9-0-2) in Conference IV.East Meadow 2, Hicksville 2: Brittany Zajack tied the game on a deflection from 18 yards out and 10 minutes left for East Meadow (6-2-2) in Conference II. The game was called with seven minutes left due to darkness. Lauren Miles scored on a 40-yard through ball from Cara Connolly and one-touched it past the keeper to put Hicksville (6-3-1) up 2-1, 16 minutes into the second half. Zajack scored both goals for East Meadow. Calhoun 5, Great Neck South 2: Kristina Gandolfo recorded her second hat trick of the season for Calhoun (8-2-1) in Conference III. Hills West 2, Centereach 0: Ariel O'Shea scored both second-half goals, the first assisted by Gina Augusta with 20 minutes remaining in the game, to lead Half Hollow Hills West (3-8) in Division I. Goalkeeper Nicole Lombardo made four saves to record her third shutout of the season. GIRLS TENNIS

Syosset 5, Jericho 2: Hannah Camhi defeated Claudia Li, 6-1, 6-3, at first singles for No. 1 Syosset (12-1) in the semifinals of the Nassau tournament. Rithaka Reddy beat April Pun, 6-4, 6-3, at third singles. Syosset will play the winner of No. 2 Garden City vs. No. 3 Roslyn in the final at 3 p.m. tomorrow at an undetermined neutral site. No. 4 Jericho ends its season 6-6.

Manhasset 5, North Shore 2: Christina George and Julie Paone defeated Abby Schubach and Sarah McNalty, 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 in the clinching match at second doubles to lead Manhasset (12-2) in Conference II-A. GYMNASTICSConnetquot 160.8, Sachem 155: Brianna Cristiano and Samantha Lester tied for first on beam (8.9) and Lester and Dani Summerville tied on floor (9.05) to lead Connetquot (5-1) in League II. Sachem's Kira Garrar won the vault (8.9) and Samantha DiRosa won bars (8.25).Hauppauge 156.85, Harborfields 153.1: Theresa Kopsky finished first on the beam with a 9.4, to lead Hauppauge (4-2) in League II. Lian Giusto finished first on vault (8.25), bars (8.05) and floor (9.4) for Harborfields.

Ward Melville 161.475, Lindenhurst 108.775: Cydney Crasa won the vault (9.25), bars (8.7), beam (9.1) and all-around (36.275) to lead Ward Melville (7-0) in League II. Allison LaRocca finished second on floor (9.40) to Eugenia Zhukovsky (9.45).

GIRLS VOLLEYBALLMalverne 3, Oyster Bay 2: Veronica Ferreiras had eight aces, 13 kills and 13 assists and Amanda Masson added five aces, six kills and two blocks to lead Malverne (7-5) to a 27-29, 25-21, 21-25, 25-18, 25-13 win in Conference BC-II.BOYS VOLLEYBALLNorthport 3, Sachem North 1: Pat Gathman had 50 assists and five digs, Jeremy Phide had 16 kills and four digs and Matt Lertora added 12 kills and ten blocks to lead Northport (9-3) to the 25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 25-22 win in non-league.
