Sauer's no-hitter, 13 Ks boost Our Lady of Mercy

Samantha Sauer threw a no-hitter, walked five, allowed an unearned run and struck out 13 for Our Lady of Mercy in a 5-1 win over Sacred Heart Thursday in CHSAA softball. Stephanie Viggiano went 2-for-3 with an RBI for OLM.

St. Anthony's 6, St. Dominic 0: Freshman Michelle Cardone threw a two-hitter, walked none and struck out 10 in her first varsity start. She also was 2-for-3 and Coley Parkas was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for St. Anthony's in CHSAA.Seaford 7, New Hyde Park 5: Lindsay Montemarano went 5-for-5 with five RBIs, including the go-ahead two-run double in the top of the 10th, and got the win in relief, allowing one run in 31/3 innings with five strikeouts to lead Seaford.Floral Park 1, Sewanhaka 0: Samantha Giovanniello threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Floral Park. Sara Yackel walked, stole second and scored on Melissa Correa's single in the fourth inning.

Hewlett 10, Wheatley 7: Hewlett scored four runs in the sixth, one on a bunt single by Katie Risolo that gave the Bulldogs a 6-5 lead. Samara Yegelwel went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Lauren Rubel had eight strikeouts in the win.Hicksville 11, Herricks 9: Jenna Markakis (3-for-4) hit a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to give Hicksville (1-0) a 9-8 lead.

Jericho 5, Locust Valley 4: Frankki Romano singled, stole second and scored on Rachel Goldstein's single in the bottom of the seventh. Lindsay Divack threw a six-hitter, struck out 10, and walked one for Jericho. Manhasset 12, South Side 1: Kristin Leung had 15 strikeouts and hit two solo home runs for Manhasset.

East Rockaway 14, Lawrence 8: Jessica DeRosa hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth to give East Rockaway a 9-2 lead. Lindsay Dinowitz went 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs.Lindenhurst 2, Connetquot 1: Claudia Collabella's single scored Marissa Greico in the bottom of the eighth to win it in League I.

Bay Shore 2, Whitman 0: Liz Weber threw a two-hitter, walked two and struck out nine and Nicole Marzillo went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Bay Shore in League II.
