Schmidt, Lovett lead Wantagh girls lax win

Paula Schmidt had four goals and five assists to lead Wantagh to a 19-11 win over Cold Spring Harbor Monday in a non-league girls lacrosse game. Colleen Lovett added five goals.

Middle Country 9, Miller Place 8: Shannon Coleman scored with 7:31 left to make it 9-7. Jenna Agostino had three goals. Massapequa 14, East Meadow 5: Kelsey O'Brien's four goals led Massapequa in Nassau Conference I. Maddie Pimental added two goals and four assists.

Boys lacrosseWest Hempstead 9, Hempstead 3: Danny Sheeler's five goals led WH in a non-league game.Cold Spring Harbor 10, South Side 6:Chris Moriarty's four goals led CSH. Will Beuerlein made eight saves in his first start.

girls track and field

Calhoun wins quad meet.Paige Vadnais won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.3 and the long jump in 14-11 1/4 to lead Calhoun.

North Shore wins.Brianna Nerud won the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.3), Lea Farrell won the 100 (13.4) and Emily Osman won the 1,500 (4:55.3) to lead North Shore in a quad meet.

Wantagh 95, Roslyn 37: Dymond Duartes won the shot put in 29-5 and the discus with a throw of 86 feet for Wantagh.
