Hauppauge's Conover tosses her second no-hitter of the season

Kayla Conover threw her second no-hitter of the season for Hauppauge in a 3-0 softball win over Huntington in a League V game on Friday. Conover, who had nine strikeouts, lost her bid for a perfect game after walking the leadoff hitter in the fifth, her only walk of the game. Heather Drago's two-run single in the top of the first gave Hauppauge (14-1) a 2-0 lead. Sandy Hawthorne went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Smithtown West 14, Copiague 0: Catherine Heacox pitched 32/3 innings and Alyssa Dell'Aera went 11/3 innings to combine for a five-inning no-hitter for Smithtown West (11-5) in League IV. Shannon Forbes went 3-for-4 with six RBIs.Deer Park 4, West Babylon 2: Melissa McGibney scored Jacki D'Aries with a sac fly in the top of the eighth to give Deer Park (10-5) a 3-2 lead in League V. Amanda Pesca's two-out suicide squeeze drove in Aly Dzierzynski to provide the final margin. Deer Park trailed, 2-1, with two outs in the seventh, but Marie Racano's infield single scored Lisa Bonacasa to tie the score at 2.Babylon 2, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Christine Desiderio's two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth paced Babylon (14-1) in League VII. Amanda McKay struck out eight and walked three in a two-hitter as Babylon took over first place.

East Islip 18, West Islip 5: Colleen Smith was 5-for-6 with five RBIs and three runs and Dayna White went 5-for-5 with four runs and two RBIs for East Islip (15-1 League III). Courtney Blake got the win and Rachel Dell'Orto finished the final three innings, striking out eight straight batters.

Farmingdale 2, Syosset 0: Isabella Corrao struck out a season-high 18 and walked one in a one-hitter for Farmingdale (9-6) in Conference AA-I. Corrao singled home Johanna Klein to give the Dalers a 1-0 lead in the third. Farmingdale clinched a playoff berth and a first-round bye with the win.

Carey 3, Long Beach 2: Patti Callahan singled in Brianna Catalano to give Carey (12-3) the lead in the top of the 11th in Conference AA-I. Ashley Martin had scored on an error in the seventh to tie it at 2 for Long Beach. Callahan was 4-for-5 and Nicole Turato was 3-for-5.Valley Stream South 5, Oyster Bay 0: Ashley Tkacsik struck out nine and walked none in a one-hitter to lead VSS (7-9) in Conference ABC-II. Oyster Bay broke up the no-hitter with a one-out single in the seventh. Valley Stream South scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Samantha Howley went 2-for-3 with a run for VSS.Wantagh 4, Garden City 3: Jen Litski and Kelly Van O'Linda each had RBI singles and Christine Kiefer had a two-run single in a four-run second for Wantagh (13-3) in Conference ABC-III. Jaclyn Vicente fanned eight in a complete-game win.St. John the Baptist 1, Kellenberg 0: Allison Schmidt tripled to lead off the top of the fifth inning and she scored on Ryan Quick's single for St. John the Baptist (11-3) in a CHSAA game. Winning pitcher Erin Caputo walked none and struck out four in a complete-game three-hitter.

BOYS TENNIS

Chaminade 4, St. Anthony's 3: J.T. Esposito defeated Nick Schwab, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, at third singles as No. 2 Chaminade (12-2) beat top-seeded St. Anthony's in the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA final. The Flyers have won four team titles in a row and 26 overall.BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Floral Park 3, Lawrence 0: Shaan Afridi and Joe Tangredi each had 10 kills and David Morris had 22 assists to lead Floral Park (10-1), which clinched at least a share of the Conference 3B title, with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-22 win.GIRLS GOLF

Smithtown West 8, Half Hollow Hills West 1:Eighth-grader Kaitlin Clancy, who shot a 5-over 37, had a hole-in-one on the 121-yard, par-3 seventh hole at Dix Hills Park for Smithtown West (8-1) in League II.
