Soto, Marino spark Uniondale to win over Clarke in girls badminton

Yaritza Soto and Jalisa Marino beat Hani Javed and Mariam Conte in the deciding fourth doubles match, 21-13, 21-19, for Uniondale in a 4-3 win over Clarke in Nassau girls badminton Friday.

Uniondale overcame a 3-0 deficit and improved to 4-2 in Nassau Conference IV.

Jericho 7, Roslyn 0: Tina Jung defeated Emily Weinschenk in first singles, 21-11, 21-6, for Jericho (8-0) in Conference II.GIRLS TRACK

Garden City's 4 x 800-meter relay team of Jenna DeAngelo (2:19.95), Taylor Hennig (2:20.19), Michelle Rotondo (2:13.55) and Emily Menges (2:12.80) took fourth in 9:06.49 in the Championship of America race at the Penn Relays.

Eastport-South Manor 90, Copiague 60: Brittany Mailander won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.5 seconds and Briana Siele won the 1,500 in 5:20 to lead Eastport-South Manor (3-0) in League IV. BOYS TRACK

Port Washington's Marco Bertolotti took fourth in the 1-mile run in 4:11.14 at the Penn Relays.


Long Beach 6.5, Calhoun 2.5:Lucas Schott shot a 3-over 39 on the front nine at Lido Beach for Long Beach (1-4) in Conference I.Northport 7, Harborfields 2:Freshmen Jake Lown shot 3-over 39, Nick Rodriguez shot 4-over 40 and Ryan Reed finished with a 5-over 41 on the front nine at Crab Meadow for Northport (7-1) in League I.


Bayport-Blue Point 8, Bellport 1:Jackie Norwark shot a 4-over 40 for Bayport-Blue Point (5-0) on the front nine at West Sayville Golf Course.Mt. Sinai 7, Ward Melville 2:Christina Ly shot a 4-over 40 for Mt. Sinai (5-0) on the front nine at the Willow Creek Country Club.Sacred Heart 5, Mary Louis Academy 0:Caroline Kenny shot a 3-over 34 for Sacred Heart (5-3) at Harbor Links.
