Taylor's perfect again for Kings Park

Junior righthander Lindsay Taylor tossed a perfect game with 11 strikeouts for Kings Park in a 10-0 win over Sayville in a Suffolk League V/VI crossover.

It's Taylor's second perfect game this season and the second straight day Sayville had a perfect game thrown against it.

"She wasn't close to any full counts," Kings Park coach Kim McGinley said. "Her rise was working big time and her changeup, too." Megan McGinley went 4-for-4 for Kings Park (7-1).

Babylon 14, Ross 0: Amanda McKay threw a five-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts for Babylon (6-0) in a League VII / VIII crossover. McKay went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs and Christine Desdeiro went 2-for-2 with two runs.

Bay Shore 17, Brentwood 0: Taylor McGowan struck out 12 and allowed two hits in five innings for her fourth consecutive shutout for Bay Shore (8-0) in a League I/II crossover. Giani Panariello and Courtney Syrett each went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Marissa Brightman had three hits.Bayport-Blue Point 4, Center Moriches 2: Tammy Vermeulan had a solo homer in the third to give Bayport-Blue Point (4-1) a 1-0 lead in League VII/VIII crossover. Eighth-grader Lauren Petersen had two hits and an RBI.Valley Stream Central 5, Herricks 2: Melanie Ruderman was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and hit a two-run homer in the first to give Valley Stream Central (3-3) a 2-0 lead in Conference AA-III. Corrine Protasiewicz went 2-for-3.Bellmore JFK 4, Calhoun 0: Carly Thea three hits included a solo home run in the seventh inning to lead Bellmore JFK (5-1) in Conference III. Sam Finkel struck out seven in a three-hitter. Stephanie Bauman had three hits and two RBIs.Wantagh 3, Jericho 2: Jen Lipski scored the winning run on an error in the top of the sixth for Wantagh (5-1). She had tied the game in the fourth on a fielder's choice in Conference ABC-III. Taylor Corwin struck out 11 in a two-hitter. Both Jericho runs were unearned.

St. Anthony's 3, Kellenberg 1: Michelle Carbone struck out five, scattered five hits with one unearned run for St. Anthony's (6-0) in CSHAA. Carbone and Joanna Chalifoux each had two hits and an RBI.


West Islip 71.5, Riverhead 70.5: Nick Mattera cleared 14 feet on the pole vault to win the meet for West Islip.

Ward Melville 74, Middle Country 66: Ryan Gilleeny won the 400-meters (52.6) and anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team for Ward Melville. Eric Pangen won the high jump (5-10) and was also on the 4x400 team.GIRLS TRACK

Bay Shore 93, Sachem North 57: Imani McGhee won the triple jump (35 feet, 6 inches) and the long jump (16-6 1/4) for Bay Shore in League II. Darleen Eiermann took first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.1 seconds) and Essence Rogers won the 100 in 12.5. Nerud wins. Freshman Brianna Nerud won the 2,000-meter steeplechase in 6:57.2 to lead North Shore at the Cold Spring Harbor Nighthawk Invitational.


Glen Cove 4, Carey 3: Nate Brady and Matt Bellomo rallied from 1-5 down in the third set to defeat Richard Naidoo and Chris Charles 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) in the deciding second doubles match for Glen Cove (1-1) in Conference 4A. Ricky Liang and Gorov Sodhi defeated Marino D'Alessandro and Sankah Ghatak 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 at fourth doubles for Glen Cove.
