Day One results at Suffolk Boys Division Track and Field Championships

A handful of running events went final on the first day of the Suffolk Boys Division Track and Field Championships Wednesday at Comsewogue High School.

Commack's Joshua Hadity, who won the Suffolk Cross County Division Championship in October, won the Division I 3,200 meters in 9 minutes, 24.82 seconds. Harborfields' Ryan Scanlon won the Division II 3,200 in 9:44.02. Rocky Point's Jerome Vessichio won the Division III version of the event in 10:06.29.

Bay Shore's Luciano Fiore, who won the Suffolk Large School 1,000 meters this winter, was tops in the Division I 800 meters, winning in 1:55.65. Bellport's Tom Gassner won the Division II 800 in 1:55.13 and Shoreham Wading River's Matt Gladysz won the Division III 800 in 1:59.18.

Half Hollow Hills East's John Natalone won the Division I pole vault, clearing 14 feet. His teammate, Malik Turner, won the Division I discus, throwing 147 feet, 4 inches. West Islip's Matt Arena took the Division II discus with a toss of 159 feet, 6 inches. Hampton Bays' Peyton Hand won the Division III discus, tossing 144 feet, 4 inches.

Central Islip's Livingstone Harriott Jr. won the Division I triple jump, going 46 feet, 0.25 inches. Riverhead's Curtis Flippen won the Division II triple jump, flying 43 feet, 4.25 inches. Southampton's Jesse Scanlon won the Division III triple jump, flying 44 feet, 2 inches.

The second and final day of the boys Division Championships is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Comsewogue High School.
