Boys Volleyball: Bellmore Beats Jericho, Clinches Two Seed

With their three-game win over Jericho in Conference IV (story in Friday's paper), Bellmore JFK clinched the No. 2 seed in the Nassau Class B playoffs.

They beat the Jayhawks without Ben Canarick, who sat out with a sprained ankle but should be healthy for the playoffs.

For JFK (9-3), the three-time defending champions, this is a surprise run to the top of the conference after losing both Ben Hirschler and Brian O'Gorman to graduation. Led by Canarick (and fourth-year head coach Dennis Ringel), the Cougars are in prime position to win a fourth straight title.

Jericho (7-4) has some talent  but might not be deep enough to make a championship run.
