Girls volleyball roundup: Seaford wins Nassau 'B' title

Megan Russell had 10 kills, four blocks and four aces as Seaford beat Mineola, 3-2, Sunday in the Nassau Class B final.

Emily Palermo added 10 digs and four aces and Jessica Rini recorded eight kills and three blocks for Seaford in a 25-12, 20-25, 20-25, 25-12, 25-17 win. Seaford plays Glenn in the Long Island Class B championship game Tuesday at 4:30 at Roslyn.

South Side 3, Wantagh 1: Deanna Mostowfi had 23 digs to lead South Side in a 17-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-14 win in the Nassau Class A final. Allison Glass added 18 kills, five aces, and 19 digs, Jackie Arcoleo recorded 18 assists, 15 digs and Allison Leonard had 17 digs. South Side will play in the Class A Long Island championship Tuesday at 6:30 at Carle Place.

Kellenberg 3, Sacred Heart 0: Brittany Cafiero had 31 assists, Candace Belvedere had 10 kills and Devon O'Shaughnessy and Melanie McGuirk had eight kills each for No. 2 Kellenberg in a 25-13, 25-23, 25-18 win over No. 4 Sacred Heart in the CHSAA final.

It's the first CHSAA title in school history for Kellenberg (11-2), which advances to the state tournament next Saturday at St. Anthony's.

Oyster Bay 3, Carle Place 1: Danielle Agostinello racked up 23 assists in No. 3 Oyster Bay's (15-1) upset win over No. 1 Carle Place in the Class C final. Melissa Campos and Alexa Hermann each recorded nine kills and Caroline Kelly had 24 digs. They will play Babylon on Tuesday at 4:30 at Carle Place in the Long Island Championship.
