West Islip's Reese makes hole-in-one

West Islip's John Reese had a hole-in-one on the 125-yard sixth hole and shot a 2-over-par 38 on the front nine Wednesday at Timber Point White, but East Islip won, 6.5-2.5, in a League IV boys golf match.

Reese, a Yale-bound senior, used an approach wedge on his ace. A.J. Carracino shot 37 and Paul Caliguiri had a 38 for East Islip.

Sayville 7.5, Patchogue-Medford 1.5: Kyle Burke shot 1-under 34 on the front nine at Mill Pond GC to lift Sayville in League V. Smithtown East 7, Smithtown West 2:Josh Leddy shot an even-par 36 for Smithtown East (League III) on the front nine at Smithtown Landing. Gilbert Chang carded a 37 for Smithtown East.Stony Brook 8, Bellport 1: Tyler Abrahamsen shot a 1-over 37 on the front nine at Bellport Country Club to lead Stony Brook in League VI.BOYS SOCCER

Port Jefferson 5, Stony Brook 1: Blake Bohlen scored three goals to lead Port Jefferson in League VIII. Connor Crovello added a goal and two assists.GIRLS SOCCER

Valley Stream South 2, Mineola 1: Christie DeMarco scored off a corner kick by Brianna Knight with 18 minutes left to lift Valley Stream South in Nassau Conference A-III. Paris Mattero scored the first goal off a feed from DeMarco for Valley Stream South's first score. Smithtown West 1, Whitman 0: Kim Spiciarich scored off an assist from Kayla Dantona with nine minutes left in Suffolk League III. Haley Cascone made three saves in the win.

West Babylon 3, North Babylon 1: Marisa Garcia scored twice, getting her second goal with 12 minutes left to give West Babylon a 3-1 lead in League IV. Marissa Esposito also scored for the Eagles.

Babylon 1, Stony Brook 0: Carolanne Murphy scored on a direct kick from 35 yards with 20 minutes left for Babylon (2-2-1) in League VII. Hannah McGlinchey made 12 saves for the shutout.BOYS VOLLEYBALL
