Long Island's best wrestlers take to the mat in Albany this weekend eyeing the ultimate prize: a state championship.
87 Long Islanders will compete for the sport's top honors in the NYSPHSAA wrestling state championships on Friday and Saturday at the Times Union Center in Albany. 57 wrestlers will compete in Division I, while 30 wrestlers will be in Division II.
The preliminaries begin Friday at 10 a.m. The semifinals and finals for each weight class will be Saturday.
