St. Anthony's, junior
The baby-faced Greene looked like he was just beaten up by his older brother or the school bully after getting a black eye at states. But he still became the Friars' first NYSPHAA state champion since Lucas Magnani in 2000.
"It put us back on the map," Greene said about the St. Anthony's program. "It opened some eyes."
Moving up from 112 pounds to 119, the junior has already had some growing pains, losing just the 10th match of his career at the Amityville Tournament on Dec. 12.
"A lot of guys get soft after they win states," Greene said, "but I'm training that much harder."
Don't expect Greene to get soft. He knows what's at stake.
