Brad Richards unwilling to waive his no-trade clause

So says Richards' agent, Pat Morris, in an email this evening -- the Stars have asked Richards to waive his no-trade so Dallas can try and pick up a draft pick for the center's rights before free agency begins on July 1, but Morris said their side is not willing to do so "at this time."

With three weeks to go until free agency and the draft prep looming, it doesn't seem as if Richards will help the Stars pick up something as compensation for him leaving via free agency.

Right now, this helps the Rangers, who were unlikely to send a pick to Dallas for the exclusive negotiating window with Richards. It seems that July 1 will be the start of the Richards derby.
