A night for Jake: NY hockey community bands together for fundraiser

The Bergen Record's Devils beat writer Tom Gulitti has done a tremendous job promoting this event, so checking out his blog is a MUST, but wanted to post something on here as well.

A special fundraiser will take place Tuesday, September 6 at Local West in Manhattan for MSG Network's Jake Wisniewski, who underwent a double lung transplant to help with his Cystic Fibrosis back in June.

Tickets for the event (which takes place from 7 to 10 p.m) are $50 and include open bar and appetizers; money raised will go toward COTA (Children's Organ Transplant Association) to help cover the costs of Jake's transplant.

To purchase tickets click here; if you are unable to attend, you can still donate via Jake's COTA page.

Among the confirmed guest from the New York hockey scene past and present:

--Devils (LW) Zach Parise, (G) Johan Hedberg and (D)Andy Greene; 3-time Stanley Cup winner Ken Daneyko

--Islanders forwards Matt Moulson and Michael Grabner, 4-time Stanley Cup champion Butch Goring

--Rangers forwards Brian Boyle and Brandon Prust; Hall of Fame defenseman Brian Leetch
