This is how you know things are beyond thin for the Islanders blue line. The team exercises second emergency recall in three days.
This time it's Anton Klementyev, who is currently en route to Columbus and is expected to be at the team's 11:30 a.m. skate at Nationwide Arena.
Guessing this means Bruno Gervais' day-to-day groin strain is significant enough for them to need an extra defenseman to fill the gap. Klementyev has one goal and two assists in 28 games for Bridgeport.
At this rate, it's anyone's guess who is next...
UPDATE: I just saw Klementyev arrive with all his equipment at and greet assistant equipment manager Richard "Shakey" Krouse and head coach Scott Gordon. The 20-year-old arrived just in time for the team's 10:15 meeting.
UPDATE: Injured Islanders defenseman Andrew MacDonald, who suffered a broken bone in his foot March 2, made the trip with the Islanders. He may be ready to play Tuesday against the Rangers at the Coliseum
