Defenseman Radek Martinek, who went down after taking a Zdeno Chara slapshot to the left arm, did not practice with the Islanders today. He was given the day off to rest and recover.

If the veteran blue-liner, who returned to last night's game at the beginning of the second period, is unable to play tomorrow, Bruno Gervais will return to the Islanders lineup.

Gervais has not played since suffering a fractured right cheekbone in a fight with Devils defenseman Colin White in the team's only win over the past 19 games--a 2-0 shutout against New Jersey November 26.
