Day off for Isles

 Without a game until Wednesday in New Jersey, the Islanders are taking a day off for rest and recovery before the last six games of the season.

Although officially eliminated from the playoffs last night, there are still several things they want to play for: contracts, pride, each other.

Coach Jack Capuano said he'll be keeping a close eye on each player's habits the last two weeks of the season.

Another good tidbit from team statistician about Al Montoya's contract status. He will become a Group 6 unrestricted free agent beginning July 1 unless re-signed by Islanders before then. More on that here.
