Injured goaltender Rick DiPietro, who did not participate in the team's morning skate Thursday, is practicing with the team at Nassau Coliseum today.
That leaves open the possibility that DiPietro will play tomorrow against the Sabres at home for the first time since suffering a groin strain in last Monday's 5-2 win over the Flames in Calgary.
Injured forward Frans Nielsen, who also suffered a groin strain last Monday, is not practicing with the team. Nielsen was slated to be activated off injured reserve in time for yesterday's game, but then was kept on IR. And while it sounded like he was likely for last night's game, he came off the ice early during yesterday's skate. Could there have been a setback? We'll find out a little later.
