The Islanders will face a depleted Ducks defense tonight with the absence of minute-mongering James Wisniewski.

Wisniewski, who unleashed a punishing check on Blackhawks d-man Brent Seabrook Wednesday, will begin his eight-game suspension tonight versus the Islanders.

Steve Eminger is expected to replace him in the lineup.

Wisniewski's hit on Seabrook elicited heated comments from both teams in the aftermath.

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said when you hit a player without a puck, "you can kill a's the most dangerous hit in the history of the game."

Upon hearing that remark, Ducks GM Bob Murray struck back with a sharp commentary of his own.

"I played in Chicago for a long time," Murray told Anaheim reporters. "I live in the city of Chicago. It used to be a black-and-blue town. We didn't have whiners. I strongly suggest Joel worries about his goaltending and stops trying to run the National Hockey League."

Will report back once we hear if C Ryan Getzlaf will play tonight (ankle).
