Jack Capuano threw a curveball by naming Al Montoya the opening night starter, and Montoya played extremely well the first three games.
The Isles coach decided to throw another curve this morning by switching to Evgeni Nabokov for tonight's Rangers game.
"There's not a lot of thought there -- just a better time for me right now to give Nabby a chance," Capuano said.
Nabokov, 36, will be playing his first NHL game since May 23, 2010, when the Sharks were swept by the Hawks in the Western Conference semifinal. Montoya, the onetime Rangers first-round pick, had allowed four goals in his three starts to open the season.
The rest of the Isles lineup remains the same.
